Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the park's transformation well. You have successfully identified the key changes, such as the removal of the fountain and the addition of the amphitheater and cafe. The overview provides a clear summary of the major shifts. However, to reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are precise. For instance, you mention the rose garden was shifted to the center where the fountain used to be, which is accurate, but some descriptions of locations (e.g., 'top right') could be more clearly linked to the overall layout. The response is well-focused and addresses the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group changes by location or feature. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'The seats from the left side', to guide the reader. However, the cohesion is sometimes a bit mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that transitions between paragraphs are smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the overall clarity of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the changes, such as 'amphitheater', 'layout', and 'transformed'. The vocabulary is generally accurate and appropriate for the task. There are a few minor issues with word choice, such as 'replaced as a new place for rose garden has been introduced', which is slightly clunky. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise collocations and varied synonyms for 'removed' or 'created' to avoid repetition. Overall, the vocabulary is adequate to convey your meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While most sentences are clear, there are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'the total area and entrance remains the same' (subject-verb agreement: 'remain') and 'shifted at the center' (preposition error: 'to the center'). Additionally, some phrasing is slightly awkward, such as 'as a new play area for children and a cafe are created'. Improving the control of complex structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement will help elevate your score. Despite these errors, the meaning is never obscured.
