The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given picture shows the park when it was opened in 1920 and compare it with today's date, and mention the major changes from both plans.

Grange Park (1920) had a major focus on greenery and nature with a little amount of entertainment. The park had 2 entrances one from Arnold Avenue and other from Eldon street. There were three rose gardens on the outskirts and a glasshouse. A fountain in the middle with a stage for musicians on the left. The seats for people were quite far from each other placed with the walls.

In today's date the park has transformed completely with multiple entertainment sources like an amphitheatre, play area, cafe, etc, the issue of parking is solved with an underground parking lot . The rose garden is moved to the middle with seats around it which creates the perfect view for the viewers, and instead of a fountain and a pond of water plants there is a water feature with both features and lesser space on the right.
