By entry via Eldon street their a beautiful fountain of water that gives a charming view overall. On the right hand their glasshouse, moving upward there are bench to stay. On the upfront most, a pond of water and a rose garden are located. While on the left side of fountain there is huge stage for musician, that must be for concert and other fun activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the park in 1920 and today, identifying key changes such as the addition of the car park, water features, and the modification of the stage. However, the overview is somewhat weak and lacks a clear summary of the most significant trends, such as the shift from a more natural layout to a more facility-oriented one. While the main features are reported, the comparison between the two time periods could be more analytical rather than just descriptive. The response addresses the requirements of the task but would benefit from a more cohesive synthesis of the changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, moving from an introduction to the 1920 layout, then the current layout, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'On the upfront most' or 'moving upward there are bench to stay'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial progression of the park layout. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the flow between sentences could be smoother with more varied linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'makes people comfort' instead of 'provides comfort' or 'is huge stage for musician' instead of 'a large stage for musical performances'. The student relies on basic descriptive language. To achieve a higher band, the student should incorporate more precise terminology related to map descriptions, such as 'situated', 'adjacent to', 'transformed', or 'replaced'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('there is huge stage', 'there are bench'), missing articles ('in today's park'), and awkward sentence construction ('the entrance gates for both are located'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
