Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the park in both 1920 and the present day. You provided a clear overview and made relevant comparisons, such as the reduction in rose gardens and the addition of the amphitheatre. However, the response contains some inaccuracies in detail; for instance, you mentioned a 'water feature' replacing the glasshouse, whereas the map shows a water feature replacing the pond. Additionally, the description of the 1920 layout is slightly confusing regarding the fountain and stage. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the visual data with your written descriptions to avoid factual errors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the past to the present. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence', 'Moreover', and 'on the other hand' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'on account' and 'as a result', which do not always fit the context. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when describing the location of features. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the changes, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'facilities', and 'amphitheatre'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'proposed to be changes made' and 'near by their are some cafe'. Some of these errors, combined with minor spelling issues like 'their' instead of 'there', occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is used in the correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'today it are changing') and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and incorrect capitalisation of 'GRANGE PARK'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
