Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the park in both 1920 and the present day. You successfully identified key changes, such as the addition of the amphitheatre, café, and underground parking. However, the report lacks a clear 'overview' paragraph, which is essential for Task 1. Instead of summarizing the most significant trends (e.g., the shift from a nature-focused layout to a more facility-oriented one), you provided a narrative description. To improve, ensure you include a distinct overview that highlights the major transformations rather than just listing details. The tone is also slightly informal, which is less appropriate for an Academic Task 1 report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the past to the present. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or misused. For example, phrases like 'Grange park in 1920 make us the reminds of ancient time' are awkward and disrupt the flow. The transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother; some sentences feel like a list of features rather than a cohesive analysis. Improving the use of linking words such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast' would help create a more logical structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the park's features, such as 'fountain', 'amphitheatre', and 'underground car parking'. However, there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and collocation, such as 'diagrammatic graph' (the image is a map/plan) and 'prepared structure of the park were absolutely fair enough'. These errors occasionally hinder the clarity of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology for describing spatial changes and avoid informal phrasing like 'having fun alone'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The two diagrammatic graph compares'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'prior to verses after organizations'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
