The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two diagrams compares the plans for a public park in 2 different periods.

Overall, major changes can be observed in the park of the present day from the park of 1920, only fewer things remain the same from the old park layout.

The Grange park in the 1920 had a fountain which was located at the center of the park. To the left of the fountain was the stage which was used by musicians. Moreover, the park had 3 rose gardens a glasshouse and a pond with seats adjacent to them for people to sit.

However, The Grange park of present day is observed to have a lot of changes compared to the old layout. The present day park has a central Rose garden instead of a fountain in 1920 and seats are installed on all four sides of the garden. To the left the stage is developed to a big Amphitheatre which is used for concerts. The new park also has a cafe and a children's play area which lacked in the old park.
