IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are so many changes in these 2 poictures given which indicate the Grange Park in 1920 and today's scenes. In 1920 there was entrance different side then now. The entrance start from the top middle and below middle of the picture. Top middle entrance: which is between 2 rose garden. Below middle there was seats on the left and glasshouse at the right side. At the today's scene we can see the entrance start from the middle of the top and middle of the bottom. The right bellow we can notice a new thing which is a underground pass way infront of the water feature and the thing is, in 1920 there was no water feature right there and there was seats at the right below and the right bottom there was a glasshouse at there. There must have a major changes here at today's picture. We also can notice the fountain located at the middle of the park in 1920 but in today's time we can see there is a huge rose garden with some seating arrangement every side of it (cover 4 sides). At the left side we can see in 1920 picture of the park, there was two seats at the top and bottom corner of the picture but now the seat is missing in today's picture. another big difference when you enter the park from eldon street then head to the rose garden and turn left to go to the stage for musicians in 1920 picture but today's time there is amphitheatre for concerts which is looking better and a huge changes. In 1920 the arnold avenue entrance side rose garden: there was a pond for water plants at the right up corner of the picture which in today's day is a children's play area. Another thing is in 1920 the eldon street entrance, if you enter from there you might nootice roase garden beside the seats but today there is empty space out there.
