The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The two diagrams show a public park when it was launched in 1920 and how the same park has been reconstructed in the present year. Overall, the park has undergone many significant changes over the years. The stage for musicians has been converted into an amphitheatre for concerts, while the fountain has been replaced by a rose garden with a surrounding seating area. However, a café, a water feature, and underground parking facilities have been newly introduced.

To begin with, in 1920, the fountain was the centre of attraction, which was later replaced with a rose garden with surrounding seating. Similarly, the stage for musicians was reconstructed into an amphitheatre for concerts. Moreover, the glasshouse, which was previously located at the bottom of the park in 1920, has been replaced with a water feature.

A café is a new facility that has been introduced for people, while a children's play area has also been constructed, which was not available earlier. Additionally, an underground parking facility has been constructed, enhancing convenience for visitors. However, all the entrances to the park have remained untouched.
