The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram provides a visual representation of Grange Park in 1920- first opening and at present.
Overall, rose garden and seats has been centeralized whereas fountain, stage for musicians, glasshouse and pond for water plants had been removed. Furthermore, amphitheater, cafe, children's play area and water features has been added.
In 1920, there are two entrance in public park at the arnold avenue in the north and eldon street in the south. At the front there was a huge fountain in between and stage for musicians beside the fountain. Aditionally, while entering from eldon street there was grasshouse at the right and seats, rose garden and some more seats at left, similarly while entering the permises from arnold avenue at right there was seats, rose garden and some more seat in contrast to rose garden followed by pond in the left.
On the other hand, today the seats has been placed at the centre around the rose garden in between. the rose garden at the north-east has been changed to cafe and a children's play area beside it. Moreover, removing all the seats and rose garden at southwest an amphitheatre has been added in the western part of the garden along with the water feature and entrance underground car park at the southeast near the eldon street.
