IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
These maps compare the layout of Grange park when it opened firstly in 1920 and today.
Overall, many changes took place in grange park with time in 1920 there was greenry in park and less modernization but today it totally reverse there is more modernization in park and the things change with time except entrance and rose garden as well.
In the center of park there was a fountain which was demolished and replaced by rose garden surrended with seats beside fountain there was a stage for musicians which was also demolished and converted into amphitheatre for concerts which is larger than the stage and also modern than stage.
Looking for the other side, when we enter from arnold avenue side there was a rose garden which was destroyed and changes it into cafe and beside this cafe there was a pond for water plants which was also demolished and replaced with children's play area. There was a glasshouse on the other entrance which was replaced with water feature and one more thing which was added in park was underground car parking.
