The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given plans illustrate the evolutionary difference among the infrastructure of the public park from a year in which opened 1920 and today.

Overall, the Grange Park has experienced significant modernization. Various new structures have been introduced including a children's play area and a cafe. In addition, several former areas have undergone massive enhancement especially central and the left and right spaces. However, entrances remian intact.

In 1920, the park was designed in a very simple layout. The fountain was present at the center while the western boundary was equipped with rose gardens and seating areas. Additionally, a pond for water plants was situated at the north-eastern edge of the park. A stage for musicians was located at the left side of the fountain.

In present, the park has observed the major advancements in its layout. The original pond for plants and a rose garden have been replaced with a children's play area and a cafe. While a water feature has been introduced in place of a glasshouse adjacent to the southern wall. Furthermore, the central space has experienced major changes and a fountain is replaced with a central rose garden enclosed by seats. An amphitheatre for concerts has been added on the left of the center. However, the main entrances are retained thier locations.
