The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given map illustrates the architectural layout of a public park from its opening in 1920 to present time.

Overall, the fountain in the center has been replaced with a rose garden and the stage for musicians is converted into a amphitheatre for concerts. Moreover, children's play area is built in place of the pond for water plants and the glass house is removed in order to construct a water feature.

In details, the rose garden near the Eldon street is moved to the center with some sitting arrangements and the rose garden near the Arnold avenue is replaced with a cafe.

A children's play area is also introduced beside the cafe where pond existed in 1920. An underground car park entrance has also been made along the Eldon Street which led to the water feature in the corner of the park. In addition, the stage for the musicians has been replaced with a amphitheatre for concerts.
