IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Both the plans here illustrates the diagrmetic representation of a public park which was first opened for public in 1920 and the same park after renovation today.

The park established in 1920 had entrance from both the streets Arnold and Eldon street respectively.The fountain is situated in the middle of the park which is then followed by stage for musicians following the central line. Musicians stage is surrounded by the rose garden on both sides.The other end of the park consist of Pond for water plants followed by rose garden.

The park which exist today follows the same pattern for the Entrance.The fountain which used to be in the center of the park is replaced by rose garden surrounded by seats from all the sides.On the left hand side of the park we have Amphitheatre for concerts.The right hand side of the park from Eldon street etrance has a Beautiful water feature and opposite to that we have a childrens play area followed by cafe.

There has been a notable charge in the park design as compared to the park in 1920 .New park consist of children's play area and a cafe.The modern park is build to caterer more public which also include Undeground parking on the Eldon street.
