The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The Grange park's two plans are illustrated below, one shows how it was at the time of inauguration in1920 and other shows its status in recent time.

Overall, Grange park is majorly altered from 1920. The Music Stage is replaced by Amphitheatre and the Fountain in now changed with new rose garden, where as the pond for water plants in replaced with a water feature. Play area and central siting area is also a major update.

As shown in the plans, the grange park has a central fountain in 1920, which in current date is replaced with a central rose garden surrounded by visitor seats. There was a stage for musicians in 1920, which is now converted into state of the art Amphitheatre, which is used for the concerts. Another major update is the installation of new water feature which replaced the old glass house of initial plan. The 2 main entrances remains intact in both the maps.

The Rose garden on the top left remains at the same spot in both the plans, While Rose garden on the right side of the top entrance is now converted to a modern cafe. One more major alteration is the new children's area which is changed with old pond for water plants.
