The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The two plans illustrate the GRANGE PARK in 1920 and present.
Overall, the park got several changes from 1920 to present. Where the entrances remain unchanged.
In 1920, the park had two entrances: Arnold avenue and Eldon street, which are opposite to each other. The common thing in these both entries are, on the left side of eldon and right side of arnold had seats and rose garden. Where in the middle fountain and stage for musicans were built. On the other side of the park contains glasshouse at eldon entrace, rose garden and pond for water plants are on the arnold entrace.
Looking at the detail, in present map the stage for musicans is replaced with amphitheatre for concerts and constructed a square shape rose garden in middle of the park. Which is surrounded by the seats on four sides. Where the pond for water plants is demolished and children's play area with new cafe was available, on the other hand the glasshouse was replaced by a water feature. The new entrance was constructed for underground car park.
