Student answer (Band 5.5)
The map display information of a public park named " GRANGE PARK" opened in 1920 and comapres it with the same park today with changes.
Overall, we can say that the park has underwent some reconstruction with some of it's places reestablished elsewhere, while the entrance to the park is the same located on Arnold avenue and eldon street.
Genrally speaking, the fountain in the centre of the park is abolished replaced by a rose garden. The seats on every corner of the park are also completely taken out with seating facing the rose garden across it.
Furthermore, The stage for musicians on western side of park is completely get rid of and a new amphitheatre for concerts is built. A new water feature is added inplace of the glasshouse on the south-east side of the park. In addition to this, a new cafe and a children's play area is also set up in place of Rose garden and pond for water plants respectively in north-east direction.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student covers the main features of Grange Park in both 1920 and today, noting key transformations such as the removal of the fountain and the addition of the amphitheatre, cafe, and water feature. An overview is present, and comparisons are generally accurate. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in referencing specific locations (for instance, the seats were not entirely removed from every corner, but rather rearranged around the central rose garden). The response satisfies the requirements of Task 1 well, but could benefit from a more thorough integration of details regarding spatial shifts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response is arranged logically with an introduction, an overview, and supporting body details. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'Overall', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to this', though some transitional phrasing feels slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is underutilised since the main body is condensed into a single dense block of text rather than being divided into logical sections comparing different areas of the park. Referencing is generally clear, but paragraphing structure limits a higher score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for describing maps and changes, using terms like 'reconstruction', 'reestablished', 'abolished', and 'amphitheatre'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'display information' instead of 'displays information', 'has underwent' instead of 'has undergone', and 'completely get rid of' instead of 'completely got rid of' or 'removed'. Spelling is generally acceptable, but lexical control is inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the response, including passive voice errors ('is abolished replaced by', 'is built'), tense inconsistencies ('has underwent'), and preposition errors ('on western side'). Additionally, there are punctuation and capitalization issues (e.g., 'eldon street', 'Genrally'). While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of grammatical errors keeps the score at Band 5.0.
