IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The plans illustrate the layout of Grange Park in 1920 when it opened first and the present time.

Overall, the park has undergone a dramatic change over the years. There was a fountain in the center of the park which has replaced by a rose garden. The Stage for the musicians has turned into an Amphitheatre for concerts. On the other hand, the pond has been changed into a play zone for kids.

Regarding the layout, the Fountain in 1920 is changed into a Rose Garden in the center with seats around it for visitors. In addition, the Stage for musicians on the left of the fountain is an Amphitheatre for concerts now. Also the Pond for water plants is being used as the Children's playing area. The Greenhouse space next to the south entrance has been turned into a mesmerized water pool with natural surrounding.

Furthermore, the Rose garden next to the north entance has been changed into a cafe for visitors. Moreover, a new entrance for underground car parking has been included in present time.
