IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
These plans show a public park known as GRANGE Park back in 1920 when it was just opened and the present day which is an upgraded plan according to modren era. The are many significant changes which can be observed easily.
Back in 1920 the park has two entrance gates one from the Eldon Street and the other is the Arnold Avenue. Even today these entrances exist the same way as in 1960 but back then there was no underground parking which is now upgraded.
After entering the park in 1960 we experience a water fountain which is now replaced by rose garden whose boundary area is circled by seats for Concert.
As we move to the right there was a grass house which is now a water feature which can be called as a small pond followed by children's play area which as back then reserved by seat followed by a water pond.
On moving towards the left we are able to see a rose garden which now a cafe for more amusement followed by Arnold Avenue entrance beside with seats and garden area which are now upgraded by demolishing sitting area.
