Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, as some features are inaccurately reported or under-developed. While the writer attempts to outline the main changes between 1920 and today, several descriptions are confusing or factually incorrect based on the maps, such as stating that 'in the place of stage for musician they built the amphitheatre for concerts' when the amphitheatre is actually much larger and covers additional areas, or incorrectly stating that the fountain was changed from a rose garden. There is an attempt at an overview, stating that 'the area became more developed, with several new facilities,' but the lack of precise reporting and the confusion regarding spatial locations mean the requirements of the task are only partially met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation in the essay, with an introductory sentence, body paragraphs attempting to contrast 1920 with today, and a concluding set of observations, but there is no clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive. For example, transitional phrases like 'By today' are unnatural, and referencing is often unclear, such as using pronouns without proper antecedents like 'they changed it from rose garden.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is disjointed, which prevents the information from being arranged coherently throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about the park transformations. The writer attempts some topic-specific terms like 'amphitheatre,' 'glasshouse,' and 'underground parking,' but there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'stage for musician' instead of 'stage for musicians' and 'introduce new facilities in park.' These lexical inaccuracies and repetitive phrasing cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary suitable for describing graphical data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex structures. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, articles, and prepositions, such as 'how a public park when it first opened,' 'they made the cafe in the place of rose garden,' and missing articles like 'in north.' Punctuation is also weak, and these frequent grammatical errors cause significant strain and difficulty for the reader in following the intended meaning.
