Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response makes an attempt to describe the changes to Grange Park between 1920 and the present, satisfying the basic requirement of addressing the task. However, the treatment of information is very limited and lacks precision. While some features are mentioned, such as the cafe, water features, and children's play areas, key comparisons are incomplete or inadequately developed. The overview is very weak and repetitive, failing to clearly summarize the main overall trends of modernization and layout restructuring shown in the visual data. Furthermore, several parts of the response drift into vague generalizations rather than reporting specific features from the maps.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The organization of the response is extremely basic and lacks a clear, logical progression. Although paragraphs are used to separate different sections, the overall arrangement is hindered by poor sequencing and awkward transitions, such as 'In conclusion, the park had comparison between at the periods of time'. Cohesive devices are used very mechanically and often inappropriately, leading to confusion. Additionally, referencing is frequently unclear; for example, pronouns and demonstratives like 'this plan is related to the, The Grange Park' fail to connect ideas smoothly, making the text difficult to follow throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student relies on simple and imprecise terms such as 'citizen park', 'leisure points', and 'excited places', which strain communication and demonstrate limited control over word choice and collocation. There are noticeable word-formation errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'it has become more facilities' instead of 'it has gained more facilities'. Less common lexical items are attempted, but they are generally inaccurate or inappropriately applied, keeping the range at a minimal level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical structures employed are very limited, consisting mostly of simple and flawed complex sentences. There are frequent and persistent errors in verb forms, tense usage, articles, and prepositions, such as 'first time exhibited since individual's spare time in the year of 1920' and 'The are more new places'. Sentence structures are often incomplete or tangled, leading to frequent errors that impede readability and cause significant difficulty for the reader. Punctuation control is also weak, further detracting from overall clarity.
