Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You provide an overview that the park has modernised and identify several important additions, including the café, play area and underground car park. You also compare some former and current features, such as the stage and amphitheatre. However, coverage is partial: the central fountain is incorrectly described as being replaced by “several roses garden,” whereas the current plan shows one central rose garden surrounded by seats. The north-west rose garden remains, and the café replaces a different rose garden; these changes are not explained. The western amphitheatre also occupies the area of both the former stage and south-west rose garden. Include these key comparisons and describe the entrances and seating more precisely to make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview and descriptions of the two time periods. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and phrases such as “In 1920” and “today” help signal time. However, progression is uneven: the second paragraph lists additions, while later paragraphs repeat some of these features without clearly grouping the changes by location or by what was replaced. The transition “While the fountain and the pond already disappeard” is incomplete as a sentence, and “In additional” does not connect the information accurately. Organise the body around clear comparisons—for example, the northern, central and southern areas—and use linking phrases to show what each new feature replaced.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a park, including “western part,” “north eastern corner,” “replaced” and “underground car park.” These terms show an attempt to report locations and changes. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts difficult to interpret: “garage park” misnames Grange Park, “midle center” is unclear, and “several roses garden” is not an accurate description. There are also forms such as “musician,” “disappeard” and “todays” that reduce precision. Use the labels from the plan consistently and choose standard map-description phrases such as “in the centre” and “in the south-east corner.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and more complex comparisons, for example, “the park contained a stage … while a fountain…” and “the stage has been replaced…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect clarity. The opening repeats “taken place” and has an unclear time reference; “there are now several roses garden” has problems with number and sentence structure; and “A new Children,s play area and water feature are created in present time” has errors in articles, agreement and tense. The sentence beginning “While the fountain…” is a fragment. Practise forming complete comparison sentences and maintaining consistent past and present tenses, with accurate articles and plural forms.
