Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change from a fountain to a central rose garden and mention several important additions, including the amphitheatre, café, play area and water feature. You also note that the north-west rose garden and entrances remain. These details show that you address the comparison between the two plans. However, some information is unclear or inaccurate: the plans show 1920 and today, not 1950, and the café replaces a rose garden rather than being a “Rose cafe.” The overview also says “water fall,” although the map labels this a water feature. To strengthen the response, give a clearer overview of the park’s overall transformation and describe the locations and replacements more precisely; some changes, such as the amphitheatre’s position, are only briefly covered.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an identifiable opening, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and it attempts to connect ideas with phrases such as “Overall,” “Furthermore” and “Moreover.” This gives the information some organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several changes are crowded into long, unclear sentences, for example, “In year 1950,east northern side pond for water plants was saw…” References such as “this place” and “it” do not always make clear which feature is meant, while “additionally, which” creates an awkward link. Organise the details by area or by comparing each feature in 1920 with its present replacement, and use shorter sentences with clear references. This would make the comparison easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “fountain,” “rose garden,” “pond for water plants,” “glasshouse” and “amphitheatre for concerts,” so the reader can recognise several features. There are also attempts to describe change, such as “remove” and “built.” However, spelling and word-choice problems sometimes make the meaning difficult to recover: “erea,” “prasanet,” “bihand” and “systomatcally” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, including “rose cafe” and “stable place are rose garden.” Aim for accurate, conventional terms and collocations, such as “was replaced by,” “is located in” and “remains unchanged.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise labels from the plan would make your descriptions clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and you use some time contrasts between the earlier plan and the present one. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent, and errors often obscure relationships between features. For example, “when it open in the year 1920” needs a past-tense verb, while “pond for water plants was saw” has an incorrect passive construction. In “now this place built rose garden,” the sentence lacks a suitable passive form, such as “a rose garden has been created here.” Articles, agreement and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “In the middel of the park fountain was presant.” Practise accurate past and present passive forms, and build shorter complete sentences before combining ideas.
