Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You provide a clear overview of substantial change and identify several key conversions, including the pond becoming a play area and the glasshouse becoming a water feature. This meets the task well, and the response also compares the park across the two periods. However, some details are inaccurate: the entrances are on the north and south, not the north and west; the pond was in the north-east, not north-west; and the amphitheatre is in the western area, not the eastern side. The underground car-park entrance is at the south-east, not the south-west. The description of the rose gardens and seating is also unclear. More precise location reporting and a fuller account of the main changes would strengthen the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph about the original park and one about its present layout. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Meanwhile,” and “Finally” help signal additions and changes. However, some connections are mechanical, and the sequence within the past-layout paragraph is difficult to follow because locations are not grouped consistently. The phrase “northern southern side” is especially unclear, while “At the past” and “At present” do not create a smooth comparison. Organise details by area or pair each former feature with its replacement, and use clearer referencing to make the progression more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a suitable range of map vocabulary, including “located,” “situated,” “replaced,” and “converted,” and the named facilities make the account relevant to the task. Some attempts at more specific language are useful, but several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “there were undergone significantly changes” is not a natural expression, and “new areas were replaced and converted” does not clearly describe the changes. Repeating “located” and “situated” also limits variety. Choose precise verbs for map changes, such as “remained,” “was relocated,” or “was replaced by,” and use accurate directional terms. This would make the descriptions clearer without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of sentence forms, including an overview and several passive constructions, which are appropriate for describing changes over time. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to limit accuracy. Examples include “there were undergone,” “entrance had located,” “stage … were situated,” and “have been add.” These should be formed as, for example, “the layout changed significantly,” “the entrance was located,” and “the amphitheatre was added.” Articles are also often missing before singular countable nouns, as in “Fountain was located.” Practise accurate past and present passive forms and check subject–verb agreement; clearer control of these basics would make your meaning more consistently easy to follow.
