Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several important changes, including the central fountain becoming a rose garden, the pond becoming a children’s play area, and the musicians’ stage being replaced by an amphitheatre. However, the overview is unclear and includes an inaccurate claim that the entrances were replaced or rearranged: the north and south park entrances remain in the same positions. Some descriptions are also vague or incorrect, such as “some free space” becoming a water feature; the water feature replaces the glasshouse in the south-east. You mention the café and underground car-park entrance, but do not clearly summarise the overall pattern of change or distinguish retained features from replacements. A more accurate overview and clearer location-based comparisons would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has separate paragraphs and attempts to move from an overview to details, so there is some basic organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the overview combines several changes in one unclear sentence, and later details jump between the entrances, gardens, stage and central area. Repeated openings such as “In 1920” and “In today’s date” do not consistently show how the information relates. Some references are also unclear, including “below the side of amphitheater,” which makes the location of the removed rose garden hard to identify. Group the changes by area—for example, north, centre and south—and use clear comparisons such as “whereas” and “in contrast” to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “fountain,” “pond for water plants,” “children’s play area” and “amphitheatre for concerts,” which helps communicate the main subject. There is also an attempt to describe change with words such as “replaced” and “turned into.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “there is made of water feature” and “there is replacements of seats” are difficult to interpret, while “rose garden” is repeated without enough precise location language. Spelling and form errors such as “rode se garden” and “Amphitheater” also reduce control. Build a more reliable set of phrases for describing map changes, such as “was converted into,” “remained unchanged” and “in the south-east corner.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences difficult to understand. For example, “These diagram illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “the entrance is remain same till the today” combines incompatible verb forms and an unclear time expression. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “In 1920,the entrance” and “In middle of park.” Try using accurate, controlled patterns such as “The entrance remained in the same position” and “The fountain was replaced by a rose garden.” Check agreement, past-tense forms for 1920, and punctuation between clauses.
