Student answer (Band 5.0)
The plans illustrate a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today. Overall there was a lot of change in park today compare to that park which was opened in 1920 but some thing remain constant and i think that would never be change it always stay some for Eample the entrance of park has remain consistent the both gates entering to the park and going outside gate has remain same since 1920 The major changes was building a Children's play area and a cafe because that was a common need today it was build on the top left side of the ground a decade ago there was a pond for water plant and a rose garden. The most ambitious thing was having a fountain in the mid of the ground that was held on 1920 but now there was a Rose garden in center and there side by side has seats on the right side of the park there was a stage for musicians in 1920 but now there was a amphiteatrefor concerts .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two time periods and report several relevant changes, including the central fountain being replaced by a rose garden, the musicians’ stage becoming a concert amphitheatre, and new café and play-area facilities. You also note that the entrances remain. However, the overview is vague (“a lot of change”) and the account is incomplete: it omits notable changes such as the glasshouse becoming a water feature and the pond being replaced by the children’s play area. Some locations are unclear or inaccurate: the café and play area are described as being on the “top left side,” although they occupy different parts of the northern and north-eastern areas. Avoid unsupported claims such as the facilities being built “a decade ago” or being needed today; focus on clearly comparing the plans.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response contains relevant comparisons, and words such as “Overall,” “but,” and “now” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the information is presented as one long, run-on paragraph, so the reader has difficulty following the overview and individual changes. Several ideas are joined without clear boundaries, particularly the discussion of entrances, the café and play area, and the central fountain. References such as “that park,” “that,” and “there” are also unclear. Organise the response into a brief overview followed by separate paragraphs describing the northern and central/western changes. Use clear location-based links, such as “In the north-east” and “Meanwhile,” and punctuate each comparison as a complete sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “fountain,” “rose garden,” “pond,” “stage for musicians,” and “amphitheatre for concerts,” which helps identify the park features. There is also an attempt to vary wording with “major changes” and “remain consistent.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or imprecise, such as “a lot of change,” “common need,” and “held on 1920.” Spelling and word formation issues, including “amphiteatrefor” and “some thing,” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise map vocabulary and use standard collocations, for example, “underwent substantial changes,” “was replaced by,” and “is located in the north-east corner.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express comparisons across time and use some linking clauses, but sentence structures are mostly simple or extended through repeated joining, rather than controlled complex sentences. Errors in tense, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make parts difficult to follow. For example, “there was a lot of change … compare to” has an incorrect verb form, while “the entrance … has remain consistent” and “there was a amphitheatre” show problems with verb form and article use. The long opening section also needs full stops and clearer sentence construction. Practise accurate past-versus-present forms (“was replaced,” “remains”) and build shorter, complete sentences before adding subordinate clauses.
