Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two time periods and report several relevant changes, including the central rose garden, the café, children’s play area, amphitheatre and water feature. You also note that the park has more facilities today. However, the overview is unclear and repeatedly calls the park “newly opened,” although the plan shows it as the same park today. Some details are inaccurate or confusing: the 1920 plan has four entrance-adjacent/edge seating areas rather than “five seats,” and the underground car-park entrance is an additional feature, not one of the park’s two entrances. The response therefore covers the task only partially, with limited comparison and under-developed key changes. Give a precise overview, then compare the main replacements by location.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview, descriptions of each plan and a summary. The sequence from 1920 to today is generally understandable, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Whereas” show an effort to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because sentences are often joined into long, unclear strings, and connectors are sometimes used inaccurately—for example, “Whereas, Two entrance…” does not form a complete contrast. Repeated claims that the park has the “lowest” or “most” facilities also interrupt the flow. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and each plan, and group features by area or by what replaced what.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “fountain,” “glasshouse,” “pond for water plants,” “children’s play area” and “amphitheatre for concerts.” These terms help identify the map features. However, the range is limited and several repeated or inaccurate expressions make the description difficult to interpret. “Lowest facility” does not clearly express that the earlier park had fewer facilities, while “newly launched” and “very grate” are unsuitable in this context. There are also spelling errors such as “arnild,” “sorrounding” and “availble.” Build a bank of accurate map language, especially verbs for change and location, and check spelling and collocations before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to use both simple and more extended sentences, and the response includes some clauses linked with words such as “while” and “moreover.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the first picture are past years,” “Grange Park are fewest facility,” and “centre rose garden with sorrounding four seats available.” Articles, agreement, tense and sentence boundaries need more consistent control. Several fragments and comma splices also appear, such as “Entrance is the small place ( two entrance north and south )south entrance…” Practise writing short, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using clauses and punctuation.
