Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some university sudents tend to learn about other subjects in addition from their main subjects, while others belive that it is more important to give all their time and attention to there main subjects and score a good GPA.
Firstly,i belive that it is good to learn about other subjects as an addition to their main subjects, because students could learnand gain knowledge about other thing's(subjects) rather than just focusing on there main subjects , it would be helpfull in their future,as few multinational companies are looking for the student who also excell in othere activites too,for example if a student could learn about AI and ML in there additional subject ,they could expect more opportinites and chances and could aslo be outstanding by others in comapanies view in one way or other.
However, focusing on there main subjects is also the most importent thing for a student who payed for the course and want to get a better cgpa to excle in there field of study as students who could just be better in the subject what they study dont need an additional subjects to excle in there future as they can see the opportinites and chance in the field they good, if the student is in a ECE course and he is good at it he could just secure a better job and salary in a VLSI company which is totally related to his field of study for example if there are addiotonal subject while are completely opposite of the course they choose they could be diverted and has to study them as the university force them to take the additional subjects and the field he is good at will be distuturbed and he could get off the track and may loose the cgpa he targeted for
in conclusin i belive that student who wnats to increse there knowledge in othere field and could aslo improve there chances and have a better multitasking ability cann choose and additonal subjects from their main subjects but if a sudent who wants to jest get on with his main subject and could get better in it and had intenstion to choose only the course he choose to he should be go on with it as university should give the students choise if there are able to take the extra tasks or want to stay focused on the main subjects only

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of multidisciplinary learning (e.g., AI/ML skills) versus the focus on core academic performance (e.g., GPA and field-specific expertise). However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the explanation of the 'distraction' argument could be more nuanced. The position is consistent, but the overall depth of analysis is limited by the lack of sophisticated supporting evidence. The response meets all task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'However', 'in conclusin'). There are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed due to punctuation errors and run-on sentences. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of varied linking words and the frequent misuse of commas and periods hinder the overall flow, preventing a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific terminology like 'multinational companies', 'multitasking ability', and 'field of study'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text (e.g., 'sudents', 'belive', 'helpfull', 'opportinites', 'excle', 'conclusin'). These errors are frequent and occasionally distracting, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. A wider range of vocabulary and more accurate spelling would be required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, with some attempts at complex sentences that are often marred by grammatical inaccuracies. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'student who payed', 'there main subjects', 'the student... they study'). The misuse of commas and the lack of proper sentence boundaries (run-on sentences) are significant issues. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors limits the score in this category.
