Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 115 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While the prompt asks to discuss both views and provide an opinion, the development of these ideas is severely limited. The arguments regarding students studying multiple subjects versus focusing on one are mentioned but lack the necessary depth, examples, or logical extension required for a full discussion. The position is stated but not sufficiently supported or developed. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response lacks clear paragraphing and logical progression. While there is a basic attempt to contrast the two views using 'in other hand', the transition is abrupt and the overall structure is underdeveloped. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes misused, such as the lack of proper sentence boundaries and punctuation. The ideas are presented in a fragmented manner, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using clear topic sentences for each paragraph and a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'Students of abroad university' instead of 'International students' or 'students studying abroad', and 'more preferable' used incorrectly. Spelling errors like 'knowladge' and 'studing' also detract from the quality of the writing. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with precision. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and ensure you are using words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Students... comes'), article usage ('in other country'), and sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and missing punctuation. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is little evidence of complex sentence forms, and the errors present are systematic rather than occasional slips. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and punctuation, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
