Student answer (Band 6.0)

Whether students want to learn about other major subject including their main subjects or devote their time and attention to studying a particular acedamic subject for a quaalification. While there are valid arguments on both sides, I believe that studying acedamic subject is benefical for better qualification but learn other major subject is valueable for gain knowledge.

Those who support stuyding particular subjects for a qualification argue that it offers better career opportunity and excellent qualificantion on their particluar filed. This is because university students should learn their acedamic subjects more for understand their fields and better score. For example, Medical students compulsory learn their fields subject more accurately. Due to medical students study more hard and they have intreast in both theory and practical. So they should follow their acedamic subject. However, this approch places a half knowedege and not chance to explore other learning resources.

On the other hand,I believe that university students should learn other major subject it helps to gain knowledge and critical thinking.

This is largely because when students learn other subject they developed their mind and thinking outside the box. However, they also understand different people perspective and enhance their cognitive thinking. For example, Students who study realted to technology and they pursue their acedamic career on particular this field. Although they should learn more different languages who not related to their intreast but they should learn and shap their skills set so, it helps their professional career growth. As a result, students learn new technology and skills so, it helps to improve their qualification and critical thinking.

In conclusion, although university students learn acedamic subject for a excellent result has clear advantages, i believe that if they should learn other subjects so, it should be benefical for their long term professional carrer growth and gain knowedege

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that focusing on one subject leads to better career opportunities, the explanation is repetitive and lacks depth. Similarly, the argument for learning other subjects is supported by general statements about 'critical thinking' but lacks specific, well-developed examples. The introduction is a sentence fragment, which makes the initial position slightly unclear. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your supporting examples are more specific and logically connected to your main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the use of 'However' at the start of the second paragraph is confusing as it does not contrast with the previous sentence. Additionally, some sentences are poorly linked, such as 'As a result, students learn new technology and skills so, it helps to improve their qualification'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these awkward transitions and repetitive sentence structures. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'acedamic', 'quaalification', 'stuyding', 'intreast', 'carrer'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'career opportunity', 'cognitive thinking', and 'professional career growth', which is positive. However, the range is somewhat limited, and you rely on repeating the same words throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and try to incorporate more precise synonyms to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Many sentences are missing articles (e.g., 'learn other major subject'), have incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'medical students compulsory learn'), or suffer from punctuation issues. The opening sentence is a fragment rather than a complete sentence, which affects the overall grammatical control. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
