Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is argued that some university students want to learn about other subjects in addition to their main subjects and some believe that it is important to give all their time and attention to studying for a qualification. I believe that people should focus on additional subjects.
On the one hand, the students don't get time to study other subjects as there main degree has vast syllabus degrees like medical, engineering and other degrees. They have a very vast syllabus because of this they have no time to do any other additional subjects because of they can get low grades in academic. They should only focus on there major subjects. Therefore the students who focus on solely subjects get's good placement from college and he can do good in life.
On the other hand, studying major subjects help them to learn new things and take experience of new things. As nowadays, the only degree can not help the students to get a good job in the market. The student should need to do some additional things to get a good job and reputation in the market. The more skills make the people get different role and people can get benefit of it. For example, the engineering students who had done MBA can secure a good job in the market as he is having both the knowledge of engineering and business it can help the company to hire the students having knowledge.
In my opinion, the people should focus on major subjects as well as there additional subjects and do the expertise in it.
In conclusion, although dedicating the focus on one major subject can help the student but, I believe that doing addition subjects can help adapt new things and can get employment fast.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the pressure of a 'vast syllabus' for the first view and the benefit of 'new skills' for the second, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The example of an engineering student doing an MBA is relevant but could be expanded to better illustrate how this specifically aids career prospects. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your points rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. For instance, the phrase 'because of' is used multiple times in the second paragraph, which disrupts the flow. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'qualification,' 'syllabus,' and 'placement.' However, there is a lack of variety and some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'do the expertise' or 'take experience of new things.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and less common lexical items. For example, instead of 'get a good job,' you could use 'enhance employability' or 'secure a competitive position.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the students who focus on solely subjects get's good'), misuse of articles, and incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'the students who had done MBA'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and spelling errors, such as 'there' instead of 'their.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and word-form errors will significantly improve your accuracy.
