Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention that focusing on main subjects is beneficial for a career, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The points regarding 'Sanskrit' or 'Gujarati' are somewhat narrow and do not fully explore the broader educational benefits of a multidisciplinary approach. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same idea multiple times. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more elaboration to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and the transition between ideas is often abrupt. For example, the shift between the discussion of subjects and the conclusion is mechanical. There is a lack of variety in linking words; you frequently use 'according to me' or 'in contrast' without effectively connecting the underlying logic. To improve, use a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to guide the reader through your arguments more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, which limits the ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'focous' instead of 'focus', 'benificial' instead of 'beneficial', and 'west' instead of 'waste'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally make the text difficult to follow. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to education and career development, such as 'curriculum', 'specialisation', or 'academic performance', rather than repeating 'main subjects' or 'unnecessary things'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammatical range is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some students wants') and article usage (e.g., 'in addition to main subject'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of grammatical errors requires the reader to make an effort to understand the intended message. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex sentence structures.
