Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education curriculum always attracts a number of suggestions. Some students believe that learning additional subjects along with compulsory syllabus bring benefits. While others argue, it is better to focus on only compulsory subjects. I believe students should learn new things side by side which can lead to positive development.
To begin with, additional subjects bring significant benefits. In this fast-paced era competition is quite high in every field. If pupils enroll their self in extra subjects which can bring advantages in near future. For example, I enrolled myself in Ielts classes when i was in last of my bachelors as a result my confidence and communication skills improved during my ielts exam. Moreover, I was able to speak infront of my whole class when my professor gave me the research topic for presentation.
On the other hand, some students think that it is quite necessary to focus on compulsory subjects. These days studies are not easy students need proper attention and focus to pass in exams. They pay high amount of universities and colleges fees so they should study without any kind of distraction. However, studying additional subjects related to their main subjects can bring various benefits as a result they can get good grades.
In conclusion, it is true to give all the attention to compulsory subjects, although addition subjects can increases their skills, valuable knowledge and overall wellbeing so it is better to gain additional knowledge and do multiple things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the point about 'competition' is mentioned but not fully explored in the context of academic breadth. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure each body paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' behind your arguments to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link your points. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition in the second paragraph from the general statement about competition to your personal IELTS experience is slightly abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on somewhat simple phrasing, such as 'bring benefits' and 'good grades', which are repeated. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'enroll their self' (should be 'enroll themselves') and 'in last of my bachelors' (should be 'in the final year of my bachelor's degree'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and personal development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the text. Examples include 'Education curriculum always attracts' (missing article), 'If pupils enroll their self... which can bring' (fragmented sentence structure), and 'addition subjects can increases' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically complete.
