Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both sides of the argument and provide a personal opinion, the ideas are underdeveloped and often repetitive. The term 'tertiary toddler' is inappropriate for university students, showing a misunderstanding of the task's context. The arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. To improve, you must expand your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure you meet the minimum length to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'on the other side', and 'in conclusion', the connections between sentences are often mechanical or unclear. The progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of clear topic sentences and the repetitive nature of the arguments. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea will help create a more coherent response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. The use of 'tertiary toddler' is a significant lexical error, as 'toddler' refers to a very young child, not a university student. Other phrases like 'extra co circular activity' (extracurricular) and 'topic wise' are non-standard. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay, while ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tertiary student are'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'became better once'), and missing articles or prepositions. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty or unclear. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of periods and capitalization. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
