Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. The arguments are repetitive and lack depth, particularly regarding the benefits of extra subjects versus focused study. The essay is also slightly under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task completion. The ideas are presented in a general way without sufficient supporting examples or logical expansion. To improve, you should aim to fully explore the implications of each perspective with specific, well-reasoned arguments rather than repeating similar points about 'music and art' in both paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', the internal logic within paragraphs is weak. For example, the transition between the benefits of additional subjects and the mention of 'grace marks' is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'its' and 'their' without precise antecedents. Improving the flow between sentences would significantly enhance the readability and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'good', 'study', and 'subject'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'encourage their knowledge' (instead of 'broaden' or 'expand') and 'catching power' (which is not standard English). The phrasing 'increase their grace marks' is also imprecise in this context. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary and use words more accurately to convey your meaning, moving away from simplistic or non-standard expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some university student want', 'Other believe') and incorrect use of articles ('in my world'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'its help in children for sharp mind'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing before commas. These errors are frequent and occasionally make it difficult for the reader to follow your intended meaning. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement is essential.
