Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays world lots the education has a great hike. There are many students who are just focusing on the main subjects. On the other hand there are some other students who are also willing to learn other subjects apart from their main subjects . I will discuss both the views and also provide my opinion followed by the examples in the future paragraphs.
Nowadays, lots of Students usually focus on their main stream subjects apart for their additional subjects. To begin with, this types of students are mostly goal oriented students as the have already decided their main field of study the do not have desire to study any additional subjects the feel like it might be an un necessary investment of their time. For instance, One of my friend from the school had a clear mindset about his studies he was only interested in the field of science as he wanted to become scientist. Due to this reason he was not interested in any other additional subjects such as history, geography and many other subjects as well.
On the other hand, there are some students as well who are having exploring nature they like to study about different subjects apart from their main once. In addition they also believe that having knowledge about other subjects is important factor because it helps them to find their field of interest. For example, one of my friend from school was having hard time finding her field of interest in studies as a science student so she started exploring different subjects. As a result she found it very interesting and also helped her finding the subject she was really interested in.
In my opinion exploring new subjects might be beneficial in many ways . Apart from this it also gives different types of experiences as well which can be helpful in the individual’s future life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, they are quite repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on 'goal-oriented' students is brief, and the argument for exploring new subjects could be more robustly supported with broader benefits beyond just finding a field of interest. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more detailed explanations or broader implications, rather than relying on simple personal anecdotes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'As a result'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'In addition they also believe' or 'Apart from this it also gives'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with the phrase 'main once' (referring to subjects). Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing feel more natural and sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'lots of', 'great hike', and 'having exploring nature'. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'main once' instead of 'main ones' and 'un necessary' (which should be one word). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education, such as 'specialised curriculum', 'interdisciplinary studies', or 'academic breadth'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this types of students'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. For example, 'the do not have desire' should be 'they do not have a desire'. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly.
