Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Several learners from higher education institutions want to learn about other topics instead of their main topics.
Overall, there are some students that spend their time learning other topics instead of their main subject these types of learners are just good in their main subjects or they just addicted to few other thing to read.
Initially, Some people says it is extremely significant to keep your focus on that subject you selected instead of wasting time in other subjects. These individuals think right because if students waste their time studying other topics or subjects which is not relevant to their main topic then it can grab their focus and attention towards itself and they will not studying their main subject and in result the students fail.
There are some folks who keep spending their main time to non-subjects these types of humans are just addicted to that topic or they thought that they are the smartest alive and they can read their main subject easy and keep wasting time in other points and at exams day there results are very terrible after seeing it they just keep regretting that why they waste their time reading other topics.
In my prospective the people have to give their most of time to their main subject to get successful but its not mean that spend your all time to study one topic. For instance if you are already good in ur main point then u can spend some time reading something else which makes you feel better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments are somewhat simplistic, focusing heavily on the idea of 'addiction' to other subjects rather than exploring the academic or personal benefits of a broader curriculum. The conclusion is brief and lacks depth. To improve, you should provide more nuanced reasons and concrete examples, such as how interdisciplinary knowledge might enhance career prospects or critical thinking skills, rather than focusing on the negative consequences of distraction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical (e.g., 'Initially', 'In my prospective'). Some sentences are disjointed, making the flow of ideas difficult to follow. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. To achieve a higher score, you should use a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, central topic sentence that links back to the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'these types of humans' and 'keep wasting time in other points'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with precision. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to education, such as 'academic curriculum', 'interdisciplinary studies', or 'specialised knowledge', and avoid informal phrasing like 'smartest alive' or 'ur'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some people says'), incorrect verb tenses, and sentence structure (e.g., 'they will not studying their main subject'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and run-on sentences. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, you need to work on basic sentence construction, ensure consistent verb tense usage, and practice using complex sentences with correct subordinating conjunctions.
