Student answer (Band 5.0)
In modern times, the issue of university subjects has become highly controversial. There are those who say that university should want to learn about other subjects in addition to their main subjects. However, other people believe that it is more important to give all their time and attention to studying for a qualification. In this essay I will examine both side of the arguments and provide my overall opinion.
Generally speaking, there are two main reasons why people believe that teenagers want to learn about other subjects. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favor of this idea is because students can achieve a good results in their exam. For instance, if students learn their main subject, they can focused their own subjects. As a results, they can achieve a good results and get good occupations. Moreover,
they will not waste their time on other subjects.
Despite these arguments, there is also a case for the idea that more essential to give all their time and attention to studying for a qualification. The main reason why people think this is a good idea is that students will be able to acquire knowledge and skills. For example, if students learn all subjects, they will acquire knowledge about all matters. They will be earn more money in the future, which is dream every people. Furthermore, they will learn many kind of skills, which is very essential for every teenagers.
In conclusion, it must be said that university subjects has become highly complex issue with no easy solutions. Having considered both sides, although students learn their main subjects, but I would argue all their time and attention to studying for a qualification, because students need all knowledge. Students can get good jobs in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether university students should study other subjects or focus solely on their main qualification, and it includes a concluding opinion. However, the development of ideas is often confused and contradictory. For instance, in the second paragraph, the student argues in favor of studying 'other subjects,' but then immediately states that 'students can achieve a good results in their exam' by focusing on 'their own subjects,' which contradicts the premise. Similarly, in the third paragraph, the student claims it is essential to focus entirely on a qualification, yet gives the example of learning 'all subjects' to acquire knowledge. Due to these frequent contradictions and under-developed arguments, the response aligns best with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas is hindered by logical flaws and repetitive referencing. Cohesive devices are frequently misused or overly mechanical. For example, the transitional phrase 'Despite these arguments' in the third paragraph introduces a view that is not clearly contrasted with the preceding paragraph, and referencing is sometimes confusing, such as 'which is dream every people.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical links between sentences are often weak or contradictory, resulting in a score of 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited, repetitive vocabulary that is barely adequate for the task. Phrases such as 'good results,' 'good occupations,' and 'good jobs' are repeated frequently. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'study that university should want to learn,' 'be earn more money,' and 'dream every people.' While the general meaning can usually be deciphered, the lack of precision and frequent word-choice errors constrain the lexical range to a Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement issues ('university should want to learn', 'students can focused'), article omissions ('as a results'), and structural fragments ('which is dream every people'). Furthermore, the final sentence of the conclusion features a major grammatical breakdown ('although students learn their main subjects, but I would argue...'), which impedes clear communication. These persistent errors place the grammar at a Band 5.
