Student answer (Band 4.5)
Various university students gain a knowledge about different subject in addition to their main subjects. and in other perspective it is more important to give all their time and focues to studing for a qualification.
many of students are curious to gain knowledge appart from their main subject because their mind is mainly not focus on one things or subject moreover, they want to know about anything and they are also curious. In other hand, many students are more attentive and more practical about their studies because they want to do their qualification with great marks and great numbers.
For example some students are likely to studie, geography but their main subject is mainly agriculture. so they want to obtain knowledge about the geography but they also do agriculture in other hand. So many student only focus on their qualification and obtain knowledge about their study.
In my opinion, student have to be more attintive and more practical and focused in their studies and work because they do their qualification and in other hand they also intrested in other studies so it's a dual intrest, it's a good things but sometimes it's affect on our career so that's the important things that we focus on our goal and made a intresting path for career and do one things.
In eddition, some student are balancing their life so well, they can do all things with perfection and without any complains. it's things that maintaing the things and focus and make a new experience that's a one type of advanture.
In conclusion, other students gain knoledge about different subject in addition to their main subject. and in other believe it is more important to give all their time and attention to studying for qualification.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views outlined in the prompt regarding university students studying alternative subjects versus focusing exclusively on their main qualification, and a personal opinion is offered in the body paragraphs. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the student states that some students want to gain knowledge because their mind is 'not focus on one things' and they are curious, but this point is not deeply extended. The example provided regarding geography and agriculture is somewhat disjointed and confusingly phrased. While the task is attempted and all parts are touched upon, the reasoning tends to over-generalize and lacks sufficient support. Consequently, the performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor sentence boundary punctuation and abrupt transitions. The student uses cohesive phrases like 'In other hand', 'For example', and 'In conclusion', but referencing and conjunctions are often inaccurate or mechanically applied (e.g., beginning sentences with lowercase letters or linking independent clauses with periods where commas or conjunctions are needed). Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion of the paragraphs is weak, often resulting in a sequence of disjointed ideas rather than a flowing argument. This fits the Band 5 descriptor of having some organization but lacking clear overall progression, alongside inadequate and repetitive cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms such as 'knowledge', 'subject', 'qualification', and 'focus'. There are numerous word choice and spelling inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'focues', 'studing', 'appart', 'intrested', 'things' (used excessively in place of appropriate nouns), 'eddition', 'knoledge', and 'advanture'. These lexical errors and the limited range of vocabulary mean the student can only convey basic meaning, occasionally causing difficulty for the reader. These features are characteristic of Band 4 vocabulary, although the overall message remains just barely accessible, placing it tightly around a Band 4.5 to 5.0 range; given the persistent lexical limitations, a Band 4.5 is most suitable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or faulty punctuation. When the student attempts more complex sentences, they are frequently ungrammatical, featuring errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and preposition usage (e.g., 'student have to be more attintive', 'it's affect on our career', 'some student are balancing their life'). Punctuation is weak, with multiple instances of sentences starting with lowercase letters following periods. Errors are frequent and often cause strain for the reader, matching the profile for Band 4 where errors are frequent and sometimes distort meaning.
