Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is quite ubiquitose thing that udergraduate and graduate students prefer to have an additional area to study to their major, meanwhile some individuals argue that it might decrease their focus on the main subject, I believe that learning other discipline may be beneficial for overall academic perfomance and build broader general knowledge.
Diversity of subjects can be a more effective way for achieving high academic results, than spending all of time only for diving deeper into a choosen one discipline. This is because learning completely unsimillar subject to well-known for us one, compel us to think in totally otherwise way than we used to. For instance, there was a study that compared two classes, a class that had an Art in its cirriculum gotten better grades in other non-related to it subjects, such as math and writting, than class that not had one additional discipline.
On the other hand, having too much additional education materials in the syllabys may lead to a very surface aknowledging in every of choosen one area. A plethora of unnessesary subjects can cause that a student will not have enough of time to build a strong expertise in any of it. However, we can handle this problem in a quite easy and obvious way just by limiting the quantity of additional subjects, which every student can choose to study.
To conclude, there are a lot of opinions about how the university cirriculum should be designed, personaly, I am strongly inclined that integrating an additional subjects from diverse unfamilliar disciplines can be absolutely usefull for developing a deeper knowledge in major ones by its requirement to thinking in another way. Nevertheless, we need to consider an amount of time that we can dedicate to another subjects without a negative impact to our main educational goal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—learning additional subjects versus focusing exclusively on the major—and provides a clear personal opinion throughout. The ideas are extended and supported, such as when the author mentions a study about art classes improving performance in math and writing. However, there is a slight tendency to over-generalize and some arguments could be further developed with deeper analysis. For instance, the counter-argument regarding superficial knowledge is introduced but resolved somewhat briefly. Overall, the position is well-maintained and the core requirements of Task 2 are successfully met, warranting a Band 6.5 or solid Band 7 for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The introduction sets up the debate and states the writer's position, followed by body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as "meanwhile", "Diversity of subjects can be a more effective way", "On the other hand", and "To conclude". Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the prompt. While referencing and cohesive links are generally effective, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, preventing it from reaching the highest bands. Overall, the structural progression is logical and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate for an academic discussion, including less common items such as "ubiquitose" (intended as ubiquitous), "graduate students", "curriculum", and "expertise". However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as "ubiquitose" instead of ubiquitous, "udergraduate" instead of undergraduate, "perfomance", "unsimillar", "cirriculum", "gotten", "aknowledging", "unnessesary", "cirriculum", and "unfamilliar". These lexical errors indicate a lack of precision, though they rarely impede overall communication. The student has an adequate range for the task but frequent spelling inaccuracies constrain the score to a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an ability to use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures (e.g., "Diversity of subjects can be a more effective way... than spending all of time only for diving deeper into a choosen one discipline"). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as "spending all of time only for diving", "class that not had one additional discipline", and "integrating an additional subjects". Punctuation is also occasionally faulty, including run-on sentences in the introduction and conclusion. Despite these errors, meaning is generally conveyed without major difficulty, fitting the profile for Band 6.0.
