Student answer (Band 5.0)
Good qualification plays a key role in human's lives. In this regards, it was said by university students want to learn about other subjects in addition to their main subjects, whereas it is more important to give all their time and attention to studying for a qualification . This essay will outline not only both views but also my opinion which is in favour of later point of view in forthcoming paragraphs with logical conclusions.
On the one side , there are various reasons due to which students want to concentrate on main subjects only. The first and foremost is that students can give their attention to main subjects and achieve their goal also. They can spent a lot of time on studying while wasting time on additional subjects. For example , nowadays students who want to become doctors or nurses , thy only focus on NEET exam to clear with good scores.
On the other hand , there are some reasons in formal line of this notion. The prime one is that students who are intelligent in education and getting good marks in it , they can concentrate on addition subjects . Moreover, students who are having interest in music , dance etc. they also join classes after university to show their talent and some of the students are addicted to these things.
In conclusion , although there are several benefits of formal viewpoint such as talent , addiction. According to me , i think that is would be more beneficial if they are more focusing on main subjects to achieve goal which cannot be overlooked .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both views outlined in the prompt regarding university students learning additional subjects versus focusing solely on their qualifications, as well as providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the transition into the discussion of students focusing on main subjects is illustrated by a brief and slightly disjointed mention of the NEET exam ('thy only focus on NEET exam to clear with good scores'). The counter-argument regarding students pursuing interests like music or dance is under-developed and abruptly linked to the idea of addiction. Furthermore, the final position stated in the conclusion is grammatically blurred and difficult to follow. Consequently, the response meets the basic requirements of addressing all parts of the task, but the execution and extension of ideas remain superficial, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. While paragraphing is attempted, the overall progression of ideas lacks clarity. Cohesive devices are frequently misused or awkward, such as the transition 'In this regards, it was said by university students want to learn...' in the opening paragraph, and 'In formal line of this notion' in the third paragraph. Referencing is also problematic, as seen in the phrase 'in favour of later point of view', where the pronoun reference is imprecise. Paragraphs do not flow logically from one to another, resulting in an overall arrangement that feels mechanical and strained. This level of organizational control aligns closely with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited and basic lexical range. Throughout the response, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'human's lives' instead of 'human lives' or 'people's lives', 'addition subjects' instead of 'additional subjects', and referring to hobbies as an 'addiction' in a context where it is clearly inappropriate. Words like 'formal viewpoint' are used incorrectly. Spelling and word formation errors occasionally impede communication or cause strain for the reader, though a minimally adequate vocabulary is maintained to discuss the general topic. This performance fits comfortably within Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty. Examples of grammatical errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('students who are having interest'), typographical errors and incorrect pronouns ('thy only focus'), and poorly structured relative clauses. Punctuation is also erratic, with spaces frequently appearing before commas (e.g., 'On the one side , there are...'). Frequent errors in grammar and sentence construction cause noticeable difficulty for the reader throughout the text. These characteristics correspond directly to the Band 5 descriptors for grammar.
