Student answer (Band 5.5)

Several university students want to learn about additional subjects other then their main subjects while other argue that it is more necessary to provide all their time and attention to studying for a perticular qualification. Additional subjects are help to improve our inner skills it leads to personal development but sometimes give all attention to only one subject that declined other career oppertunities. I belive that learn all subjects accessible for knowledge pruposes.

Some students want to learn additional subjects for their personal growth and enhance their skills. It enables students to develop better knowledge all aroud the world. For example, medical students learn practical skiils in their university lecture but at that time also required communication skills. It helps during the dealing with their patients and co-workers. Due to this skills they able to develop greater career future.

Sometimes other students concentrate only one perticular subject in owing to impact on their critical thinking, problem solving skills and shorter carrer path. Many times their cognitive behavior can also change because they pay attention only for their qualification. For example, if students give their all time in their task but not faimiliar with skills such as leadership, teamwork and time management so they can not move upward in their career.

In my opinion, students can learn a perticular subject as well as additional subjects depend upon their workload as a result enhance their cognitive behaviour. This approach would them allow them to develop specialist expertise without missing the benefits of broader education.

In conclusion, for enhancement of inner skills and personal gowth we should learn and pay attention to one subject for a qualification as well as additional subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on whether university students should study additional subjects or focus strictly on their main qualifications, and the writer provides a clear personal opinion. For example, the introduction states 'I belive that learn all subjects accessible for knowledge pruposes,' and the body paragraphs elaborate on personal growth versus career focus. However, the ideas are somewhat under-developed and lack extension. The examples provided, such as medical students needing communication skills, are relevant but briefly stated rather than fully explored. This places the response comfortably at Band 6, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some parts lack sufficient depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, including an introduction, body paragraphs discussing each view and the writer's opinion, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases and conjunctions are sometimes misused or omitted, as seen in sentences like 'Additional subjects are help to improve our inner skills it leads to personal development but sometimes give all attention...' and 'Sometimes other students concentrate only one perticular subject in owing to impact on their critical thinking...' Referencing and paragraph transitions are basic, and some sentences feel disjointed. This level of organisation and cohesive control aligns with Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'personal development', 'cognitive behavior', and 'specialist expertise'. However, there are numerous noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'other then' instead of 'other than', 'perticular' instead of 'particular', 'pruposes' instead of 'purposes', 'skiils' instead of 'skills', 'aroud' instead of 'around', and 'gowth' instead of 'growth'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Therefore, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional structures ('if students give their all time in their task but not faimiliar with skills... so they can not move upward'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, prepositions, and sentence fragments, such as 'Additional subjects are help to improve', 'learn all subjects accessible for knowledge pruposes', and 'This approach would them allow them to'. These frequent errors in grammar and punctuation can cause some difficulty for the reader, matching the descriptors for Band 5.
