Student answer (Band 4.5)

Few students from different university says that they want to learn other subject rather or along with subjective topis or subject. I completely agree that students most be taught only study material in class other than any subject.

Firstly, focusing on only subject related topic helps to gain clear and good mark in subject than other . few individual belives that their most be rule to teach extra subject apart from main subject but its not how its work . In other word , if different subject will be added the cost of running university will increase and all the vurden will goes to students either study or financial .

If students focus on main subject only then the chances of getting good garde will be easy and the knowledge will not mix . If the university takes all main subject and other subject together then chances of getting good mark for university will decrease.

After , the people who says that the students must give their time study only rather other subject says true or by their experince and outcomes they have faced . Focusing on only main subject helps us to achieve goals very faster and with good outcomes also. To helps those student who want to learn more subject other than main subject their should be extra class with nominal charge. It helps student to gain some outer knowledge that helps to remain knowledgeabel.

In conclusion, i completely agree that students should focuss only on main subject in unversity rather than other . it helps to gain goals faster .students can take other subject in free time or read by their own and take some extra knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether students should focus solely on their main subjects or learn other subjects as well. The student clearly states a position in the introduction, writing "I completely agree that students most be taught only study material in class other than any subject." However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. Throughout the body paragraphs, the reasoning centers primarily on getting good marks, saving money, and finishing goals faster, which under-develops the broader educational debate presented in the prompt. While the student does acknowledge the opposing view, the arguments lack depth and extended support. Therefore, this performance aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay is organized into distinct paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and mechanical transitions such as "Firstly,", "After,", and "In conclusion,". Sentences often feel disconnected, and the relationship between ideas is not always transparent, as seen in abrupt shifts like "After , the people who says that... says true or by their experince". Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is inadequate and repetitive. This places the response firmly within the Band 4 to Band 5 range. Because there is a recognizable organizational structure with topic-like groupings in each paragraph, it merits a 4.5, which rounds to a 5.0 based on general patterns, though strictly speaking, the mechanical nature of cohesive devices and unclear referencing reflect typical Band 4 characteristics.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like "subject", "students", "good mark", and "knowledge". There are noticeable word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, such as "subjective topis" instead of subject topics, "most be" instead of must be, "vurden" instead of burden, "garde" instead of grade, and "focuss" instead of focus. These lexical limitations and frequent spelling errors restrict the range of vocabulary significantly. While the message can generally be understood, the restricted range and persistent errors align with the Band 4 descriptor, where basic vocabulary is used and errors frequently strain the reader's comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. Frequent grammatical errors appear across the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("Few students... says"), incorrect modal usage ("students most be taught"), and fragmented or run-on structures ("If the university takes all main subject and other subject together then chances of getting good mark for university will decrease"). Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect spacing around commas and periods. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and mean that error-free sentences are the exception rather than the majority, positioning the grammar at a Band 4 level.
