Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education plays a significant role in improve societies and individuals. Some people believe that learning different co-subjects with theire main course helpful for future academic and professional career; however, other argued that giving importance only on qualification, it would be more beneficial.
On the one hand, focusing exclusively on a qualification can help students achieve stronger academic results. University courses often contain a large amount of specialised knowledge, and students need considerable time to attend lectures, complete assignments, practical sessions and prepare for examinations. For example, a pharmacy student may need to give spare time to subjects such as pharmacology, pharmaceutics and medicinal chemistry. If too much time is spent on unrelated subjects like codding, learning other lingustic languages, students may struggle to understand their core fields and might be not achieve require grade for taking admission for post-graduate in renown institutes.
On the flip side, learning other's subjects are essential for develop broaden knowledge and skills. In the contemporary era, multiple knowledge and skills play a significant role in job. Nowadays, employers find employess to have various skills such as communication, leadership, time-management and resillience skills with academic knowledge. For instance, a pharmacy student who learns basic business management or data analysis may find it easier to work in pharmaceutical companies. Furthermore, exposure to different subjects can encourage creativity because students can connect ideas from different areas.
In conclusion, although giving more concetration on core subject is important, I believe students should learn other subjects with core course. It gives more opportunities for job and enhanced creativity, imagination and problem-sloving skills. I think universities should provide co-subjects with core subject.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—focusing exclusively on a qualification versus learning other subjects—and clearly states a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as a pharmacy student studying pharmacology or business management. While the arguments are generally well-developed, there is a slight tendency to over-generalise in certain sentences, placing the response firmly at Band 6.5 to 7.0. Because the prompt's requirements are fully met with clear logical support throughout, the performance aligns well with the Band 7 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a clear overall progression and logical organisation throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, moving smoothly from the introduction to the two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, and finally to a concise conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the flip side', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' are used appropriately to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is used effectively, though referencing is occasionally slightly loose (for instance, 'learning other's subjects'). Overall, the structural flow is clear and coherent.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the academic prompt, attempting less common lexical items such as 'specialised knowledge', 'contemporary era', and 'pharmaceutical companies'. However, there are noticeable lexical and word-choice errors, such as 'improve societies' instead of 'improving societies', 'co-subjects', 'lingustic languages', and 'problem-sloving'. Additionally, word forms are sometimes inaccurate, such as 'for develop broaden knowledge'. Despite these frequent minor slips and spelling mistakes, communication is never impeded, placing the lexical range appropriately at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses (e.g., 'If too much time is spent on unrelated subjects like codding...'). However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several recurring errors in verb forms, prepositions, and agreement, such as 'other argued' instead of 'others argue', 'theire main course', 'might be not achieve', and 'employess to have'. Punctuation and sentence structures are mostly functional, but errors occasionally cause slight strain for the reader, fitting the profile for a Band 6.0 performance.
