Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are ongoing debate regarding college studentès education has two contrasting perspactives. Some scolars of universities want to develop other cariculam skills with their major subjects. While other claims that it is highly essential to spend their entire time and focus into education for a graduation purpose. Prior to my stance, both the view points would be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate example.

To begin with, one key factore why students claim that they want to do other activities apart from syllabus education is for learn new skills. This is significant because during these skills children explore new opportunities and gain confidence. In addition, real life expactancy is depent not only only on piece of degree paper, but also on their skills and behaviour. consequently, they emphasise their intrest among people and explore more things. for instance, college students get their intrested job before graduation because of their specific skills experties.

However, people who oppose the former stance and argue that degree eduation is crucial compare to ther activities. The reason behind it is reputed placements and high salaries reuired education first beside other activities. studentès in interviews and other places judge by their education to add to this it gain more respects.A clear example of this is, Multi national companies always picked their employment from best universities ranked students such as Google, Amezon.

to sum up, despit of both views arguments, i personally believe that having extra skill apart from education can more more benifical for students itself. which is the evidence of my explaination.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views (learning diverse subjects versus focusing entirely on a main qualification) and provides a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack full extension. For instance, the paragraph supporting the exploration of other skills mentions gaining confidence and securing jobs, but these points are under-developed with limited supporting examples. The position is clear throughout, but the development of supporting arguments remains somewhat superficial. This performance aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the use of paragraphing to separate different viewpoints. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'However', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, like 'Prior to my stance, both the view points would be discussed'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun use like 'during these skills children explore'. While logical progression is generally maintained, the mechanical nature of the cohesive devices and occasional unclear referencing places this response firmly at Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts to use a range of vocabulary appropriate for an academic discussion, including terms like 'perspectives', 'curriculum', and 'multinational companies'. However, there are numerous lexical and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'scolars' instead of scholars, 'cariculam' instead of curriculum, 'factore' instead of factor, 'expactancy' instead of expectancy, and 'intrest' instead of interest. There are also inappropriate word choices and collocations, such as 'degree eduation' and 'picked their employment'. These frequent inaccuracies limit the lexical score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting complex forms such as 'While other claims that it is highly essential...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and word forms, such as 'There are ongoing debate', 'studentès education', and 'studentès in interviews... judge by their education'. Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, with lower-case letters starting sentences and misplaced apostrophes. Because the frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and accurate complex structures are limited, this warrants a Band 5.0.
