Student answer (Band 5.0)

It has been argued that some university students want to learn different subjects along with their core subjects, While others believe it is not much important to focus on irrelevent subjects.

I agree with with this point of view that learning other subjects plays a significant role in students life. Because if the students concentrate on different types of subjects they will be able to live a sucessful life. Learning various kinds of subjects help students to grow in the society.

For instent, A student who just focus on its main subjects is likely to become a man who just have the knowledge what he studied in the university however, A student who learned other subjects and practical skills in its university life have the solution of every problem in the society moreover he/she likely to become more successful as compair to those who just focused on thier core subjects.

On the other hand, Some students believe that it is more important to focus on graduation. They think that if they give all their time and concentration to their course subjects they will become more successful and they will get a desire job according to their qualification furthermore they will be able to live a life what they dream for. According to these students they become successful but in reality they are actually losers who just traped in a matricx and they spend thier whole life in it while the other students have practical skills to fight againest their problems

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding whether university students should learn other subjects or focus solely on their core subjects. A clear position is stated in the introduction, where the writer agrees that learning other subjects plays a significant role. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument that a student learning multiple subjects has 'the solution of every problem in the society' is over-generalized and lacks specific, well-reasoned support. Furthermore, the counter-argument touches upon graduation and jobs, but the final paragraph introduces emotional and informal language ('losers who just traped in a matricx') which detracts from the academic tone and academic task fulfillment. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of argumentation and support places this response securely at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, though the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and poor sentence-to-sentence linking. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate, repetitive, or mechanically forced, such as starting multiple sentences and clauses with 'because', 'for instent', or 'furthermore'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, particularly in the conclusion where ideas about graduation, matrices, and problem-solving are lumped together confusingly. Referencing is also problematic, as pronouns like 'it', 'they', and 'he/she' often have unclear antecedents. These organizational and cohesive flaws correspond to a Band 5.0 level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and frequently hindered by noticeable spelling and word choice errors. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'irrelevent', 'sucessful', 'instent', 'compair', 'trapped', and 'matricx'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'significant role', but these attempts are undermined by persistent errors that cause difficulty for the reader. Furthermore, collocation and word forms are frequently incorrect, such as 'course subjects' instead of 'core subjects' and 'desire job' instead of 'desired job'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic, the high frequency of errors prevents it from reaching a Band 6.0, resulting in a Band 5.0 score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. Punctuation is notably weak, featuring severe run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'A student who just focus on its main subjects is likely to become a man who just have the knowledge what he studied in the university however, A student who learned...'. Grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('A student... have'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. These errors occur constantly and frequently cause strain for the reader, aligning with the criteria for Band 4.0.
