Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, as it is severely underlength, containing only 158 words compared to the minimum requirement of 250 words. Furthermore, the second view requested by the prompt is truncated and incomplete at the end of the text ('Secondly, a particular people believe it is more important to all their time pay heed to study of a qualification becuase it helps their'). While the writer attempts to present a position and briefly discusses the first view regarding learning additional subjects, the lack of sufficient length and the failure to fully develop both sides of the argument keep the task achievement at a minimal level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organisation in the text, evident through the use of transition markers such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. However, the information and ideas are not arranged into a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is abruptly cut off mid-sentence. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical repetition of basic cohesive structures means the flow is disrupted, preventing the text from achieving a higher level of logical development.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent reliance on simple terms such as 'subjects', 'students', and 'main'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'approximate' instead of 'approximately', 'pay head' instead of 'pay heed', and 'becuase'. These errors and the limited range of vocabulary strain the reader's understanding and restrict the lexical score to a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex structures, verb forms, and agreement, such as 'some university students wants' and 'he passed their exam'. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation are present throughout, including lowercase beginnings for sentences and missing punctuation at the conclusion of the response. These persistent inaccuracies mean the grammatical control remains restricted.
