Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some students just want to dedicated with their main subject to get higher high marks they can and others believe that they have to contribute among several subjects like they want to learn more than one field to take more experience. Both prospectives have their own pros and cons.
Initially,I go to the students who want to get maximum grades in their main subject which is absolutely appropiate for every student because some student has their career dependent on their main subject result. For example,If we seems the intermediate students who has chosen medical field, they want to become doctor. So they have to give special time to get higher high marks cause merit is too competetive and students studied over day and night.Becoming a doctor is not a piece of cake for everyone.Students have to struggle. So its very crucial for them to give a proper attention to their main subject and do not distract by doing other co-circullar activies.
Subsequently, the students who want to involved in different subjects to gained some knowlegde and which is also helpful for their daily routine life and also for their professional life.If we look over a student who is different kinds of skills with his main subject. It might cause a decrease in his academics grade but built his personality.Like a person who gives speech in any kind of festivals if beneficial for his communication skills and also make it confident to give his point of view infront of people and this type of quality in students is once in a blue moon.and if consider a sports example its also beneficial for student in both types;physically and mentally. It make them healthy.
Ultimately,I present my opinion that a student should have to involved in different kind of fields to get relevant knowlgde which must be good for them to use it in daily and professional life and grow their self vigorously.I give you a practical example of my life, since my childhood I am so fond of becoming an entreprenuer and I gained knowlegde from various fileds like medical, engineering and from economics and I am also so fond of remote jobs and online work career. So,i got training of online trading and e-commerce which now proved as a benefit for me like i managed my expenses from the income i generate from this work which gives me confidence and said me "break a leg" if I am going to take another risk to improve my life weather my elder brother is unemployed yet after his graduation and seeking for to do some job as he only pay attention to studies moreover mostly to specific one.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views regarding whether university students should focus exclusively on their main subjects or explore other areas, and it presents a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, while the writer mentions medical students needing high marks and extracurricular activities building personality, these points are not fully extended with robust reasoning or concrete evidence. The argument tends to rely heavily on generalisations and personal anecdotes rather than fully exploring the broader implications of each perspective. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to provide more thoroughly developed explanations and fully explore all parts of the task with greater depth and support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation in the essay, with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, the two body paragraphs discussing each viewpoint, and the conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. The transitions between sentences and ideas often feel mechanical or abrupt, such as the openings of the body paragraphs ('Initially,I go to the students...' and 'Subsequently, the students who want to involved...'). Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, and cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or inaccurate, making the flow somewhat disjointed. To achieve a higher score, the writer should ensure a smoother logical progression between paragraphs and use a wider, more natural range of cohesive devices to connect ideas seamlessly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic ideas about education and career choices. There are frequent noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling, such as 'dedicated' instead of 'dedicate', 'appropiate', 'co-circullar', 'competetive', 'gained', 'knowlegde', 'fileds', and 'entreprenuer'. These lexical inaccuracies sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. Although the writer attempts some less common phrases like 'once in a blue moon', inaccurate collocations and persistent spelling mistakes restrict the range and precision. To progress, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range, pay closer attention to correct word forms and parts of speech, and eliminate basic spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on strings of clauses joined by coordinating conjunctions. When the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often faulty, featuring frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples include 'If we seems the intermediate students who has chosen medical field, they want to become doctor', 'students studied over day and night', 'a student should have to involved', and missing articles throughout the text. Punctuation is also weak, with missing spaces after commas and periods. These frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader. To improve, the student must work on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring accurate verb agreements, and reducing the frequency of grammatical errors.
