Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, this a hot topic among peers weither they study other subjects in addition to their course subjects or just focus on their relevant subjects only.
Some aruge they should explore other subjects during their main course work, while other stress on giving all their energy and time on studying for a qualification only. I agree with prior group, all students should explore and study other subjects other than their main subjects.
University students who wants learn other subject than they enrolled for are a rare breed. By doing so, they not only learn interdeciplinery skills but also expand their horizon of vision. For instance, with recent boom in AI and related technologies that are revoluationery and changing our prespective of viewing the world. Now the students, who learn about these technology and also how to implement AI in their field of study will be far more productive and generate new ideas, which otherwise be dumped in piles of papers. Additional knowelged also give edge in real life, learing life saving skills other than studies helps to get through every thick and thin.
Now the students, who belive they should give all their focus and time to study for a qualification, also got a valid point. When you put a lot of effeorts in a single subject for too long, your odds of becoming expert are higly likely. Instead of become Jack of all tardes, it's far better to become a expert at one core subject. For instance, the job market these is becoming very niche and only the people with core experties of their subject can ace in the crushing competition. Only a AI expert can debug and sole AI model's discrepencies, not someone who lacks the fundaments but good at music.
In my opinion, students should explore other subjects that are in trend and need of hour while focusing on their main subjects for a qualification. A balanced approch which combines the in-depth understanding of own field of study and other neccessary skills are the way forward.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—studying additional subjects versus focusing exclusively on a main qualification—and you clearly stated your own opinion throughout the essay. Your position is well maintained from the introduction to the conclusion. Main ideas are extended and supported, such as when you explain how interdisciplinary skills and AI integration make students more productive. However, there is a slight tendency to over-generalise in parts of your arguments, which prevents the response from reaching the highest levels. For example, claiming that 'only a AI expert can debug and sole AI model's discrepencies' is somewhat absolute. Overall, your ideas are relevant, and the task is thoroughly engaged with, showing clear support for your chosen viewpoint.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay demonstrates a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. You have structured the response into distinct paragraphs, starting with an introduction that outlines both views and your stance, followed by body paragraphs dedicated to each perspective, and ending with a coherent conclusion. You make use of cohesive devices to guide the reader through your arguments, such as 'For instance', 'By doing so', and 'Instead of become'. However, the referencing and connection between sentences occasionally feel slightly mechanical or abrupt, and some cohesive devices are used with minor awkwardness. To reach the highest band, you would need to ensure that the flow between paragraphs is entirely seamless and that cohesive ties are even more naturally integrated without drawing attention to themselves.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'interdisciplinary', 'perspective', and 'discrepencies'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication, including 'weither', 'aruge', 'interdeciplinery', 'revoluationery', 'prespective', 'knowelged', 'learing', 'belive', 'effeorts', 'higly', 'tardes', 'experties', 'approch', and 'neccessary'. While you show a willingness to use topic-specific terminology related to education and technology, these lexical and orthographic inaccuracies prevent you from achieving a higher band. Working on your spelling control and precision in word choice will significantly strengthen your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You show a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like 'University students who wants learn other subject than they enrolled for are a rare breed.' However, there are frequent errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout the text. Examples include 'students who wants learn' instead of 'want to learn', 'other subject' instead of 'other subjects', 'the job market these is becoming' instead of 'at present is becoming', and 'sole AI model's' instead of 'solve'. These errors in basic and complex structures persist frequently, meaning that while meaning is usually conveyed, the frequency of grammatical slips places the writing firmly in this category. Greater control over verb tenses, articles, and pluralisation is needed for improvement.
