Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many college graduates want to have the knowledge of other subjects apart from their primary subjects. While some thinks that it is better to give all their focus on studying for a qualification. I strongly have the opinion in favour of learning additional subjects.
On the one hand , some university students are keen to add on the other subjects in addition to their primary main subject because it will act as a sword againt the other competitors in the future and aid them in achieving their desired growth and success in their lives . For instance , every organisation desire to employ those candidates who is a multi-tasker and have the edge over the others to do the particular task with mroe efficiency and productivity and it is possible only with learning new and extra apart form the general things which is read by everyone in the class.
On the other hand , many people have completely different opinion that they should be more attentive and focused towards their first subject and for qualifying the examination , as they believe that the extra subjects are not at all beneficial for them and it will be a complete waste of time. For example , those who wants to be a professional in their field are more concerned about that particular subject and for them other subjects are not worthy of their time .
To recapitulate, university Students who are willing to learn additional subjects should gain the knowledge because it is not necessary that each one of them will be a professional in their University subject at the end of the examination, so for their better future they need to work upon their additional skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state your position clearly in the introduction: “I strongly have the opinion in favour of learning additional subjects.” The two body paragraphs also present relevant reasons, including employability and the value of concentrating on a qualification. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that extra subjects give students an advantage in employment is broad, and the example about organisations hiring “multi-tasker[s]” does not explain how studying other subjects builds that ability. The opposing view is also described mainly as a belief that extra subjects waste time, with little exploration of when this might be true. Your conclusion repeats your preference but does not fully draw together the comparison. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To recapitulate” make the broad progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes run together, and the links between claims and supporting details are not always clear. For example, the employment claim moves quickly from being a “sword” against competitors to organisations wanting multitaskers, without explaining the connection. Some transitions and references also feel mechanical or unclear, such as “the other subjects” and “that particular subject.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “qualification,” “competitors,” “productivity,” and “professional.” These choices show an effort to express more than basic ideas. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which makes some sentences harder to understand: “add on the other subjects,” “a sword against the other competitors,” and “extra apart from the general things” are not natural expressions in this context. There are also spelling errors such as “againt,” “mroe,” and “form.” Aim for precise, conventional academic phrasing rather than translating expressions literally. For example, describe additional study as broadening knowledge or improving career prospects, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, including the contrast introduced by “While” and the reason clause beginning “because.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer structures often contain errors that make the writing less controlled. Examples include “some thinks,” “every organisation desire,” and “those candidates who is,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. The opening “While some thinks…” is also a fragment because it is not joined to a complete main clause. Other sentences contain unclear or incomplete grammatical relationships, particularly in the first body paragraph. Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking that each clause has a subject and verb, and reviewing agreement and punctuation.
