Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an irrefutable fact that some university learners want to learn about alternative academic field in addition to their core subjects. While others assert that it is more crucial to give their time and attention to studying primary subjects. This essay will discuss the both views and elucidates my opinion in following paragraphs.

To commence with, supporter of this view base their arguments on several key reasons. One of the substantial influence is develops a wider range of knowledge and skills. To elaborate it, studying unrelated subjects can give a source of knowledge to students and develop personal growth while handling the all kinds os situations with the vast knowledge from additional subjects. Moreover, it can develop creativity and thinking of an educatee with different ideas. Secondly, alternative academic field improves career opportunities. To elucidate it, trainee who learned different tupe of subjects can develop many skills which help them for their future career. For instance, an employee has technical as well as marketing knowledge he would definitely hired by any company.

On the other hand, there are equally strong arguments supporting the opposite viewpoints. The primary influence is help students achieve better academic scores. To narrate it, only focusing on primary subjects can help learners to achieve good scores because there are very deep theories in their subjects that onlu understandable while focusing on one subject rather than others. Last but not least, reduces stress and improve time management. To expound it, with alternative academic field educatee can survive from burden and stress it onlu reduced by paying attention to their core subjects and do their studies on time which helps the, to managing the time.

In conclusion, there are few benefits for learning additional subjects such as develop a wider range of knowledge and improves career opportunities. While, I believe that focusing on only primary academic is more important beacuse it help students achieve better academic scores and reduces stress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and gives a clear opinion: the conclusion states that focusing on core subjects is more important. Relevant reasons are included, such as broader knowledge and career opportunities for studying additional subjects, and stronger academic results for concentrating on a qualification. However, some points are more fully explained than others. The career example about an employee with technical and marketing knowledge is useful, but the claims about reducing stress and improving time management are unclear and not convincingly linked to focusing only on core subjects. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example, and make sure the supporting details consistently reinforce the view being discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from benefits of broader study to benefits of specialisation is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through paragraphing and a consistent overall direction. However, linking phrases such as “To elaborate it,” “To elucidate it,” and “To expound it” are repetitive and sometimes make the connections feel mechanical. Improve cohesion by varying how you explain relationships between ideas and by using clearer references when a sentence’s subject is uncertain.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “core subjects,” “career opportunities,” “academic scores,” and “time management.” Some less common choices, such as “irrefutable” and “elucidates,” show ambition, but several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “alternative academic field,” “a source of knowledge,” and “survive from burden and stress.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “tupe,” “onlu,” and “educatee” also make the wording less reliable and can slow the reader. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, but precision and natural collocation are inconsistent. Prefer familiar, accurate phrases where needed, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the opening and explanatory clauses beginning “because.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “One of the substantial influence is develops” has problems with agreement and sentence construction, while “an employee has technical as well as marketing knowledge he would definitely hired” lacks appropriate clause punctuation and a correctly formed verb. There are also errors with articles, plurals, and verb forms, as in “supporter of this view” and “it help students.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences before adding longer clauses, then proofread agreement and verb forms.
